Trevor Forbes
Co-CEO
Prior to Freestone, Trevor served for seven years as President and then CEO of Summit Vehicle Solutions, a holding company providing vehicle management and disposition services to private property, law enforcement and municipal customers throughout the country. During Trevor’s tenure company EBITDA grew ~6x through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
Trevor led a successful exit in 2024, producing a +40% IRR for shareholders. Prior to his time leading Summit Vehicle Solutions, Trevor served for six years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps leading logistics units and counterinsurgency teams in East Asia and Afghanistan.
In addition to his primary role at Freestone, Trevor is a partner and investor at Grant Street Investments, a closely held private investment office focused on investments in the lower middle market, and serves on the board of Peak Auto Auctions. Trevor holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Matt Phillips
Co-CEO
From 2022-2024 Matt served as President and COO of Summit Vehicle Solutions, a holding company providing vehicle management and disposition services to private property, law enforcement and municipal customers throughout the country. During Matt’s tenure, Summit Vehicle Solutions grew to be the second largest outsourced municipal impound management company in the country.
During Matt’s tenure he led 250+ team members and all operations including the successful integration of the company’s largest acquisition and the successful bidding, awarding and implementation of the company’s largest municipal contract. Prior to Summit Vehicle Solutions, Matt served as COO of Ithos Global Software, a beauty and cosmetics compliance software provider where he led the company to a successful exit in 2022.
Prior to Ithos Global Software, Matt worked at Ball Aerospace and served twelve years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as an F/A-18 pilot including tours as an instructor pilot, aviation safety officer, and flight leader. Matt holds a B.A. in Economics from Carleton College and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
